Pen y Fan Sunset & Stars
Come and enjoy a quieter time of the day on Pen y Fan, the roof of the Brecon Beacons. Situated in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, which is also an International Dark Sky Reserve, we’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy a walk through golden hour to the peak for sunset, descending as night falls and the stars begin to appear. Once we’re back down we’ll enjoy hot drinks and use the Stellarium App to observe the night sky and identify stars, constellations and planets.

Find your Way - Adventure Seeker - Eryri (Snowdonia)
Do you want to be able to plan great walks, with beautiful views, prepared for the weather and conditions and feel confident that you won’t get lost? I’ve designed the Find Your Way courses to help you do this. This course is a follow-up to my Find your Way - First Steps and Go Further courses, and this time we’ll be covering more intricate route planning, steeper and more complex terrain, hazards, keeping safe, and precise map reading as well as the use of the compass and other techniques to find your way in poor visibility or in the dark. GPS apps are great until your battery runs out, you get logged out and don’t have signal to log back in, or you drop or drown your phone (all of these have happened to me, thankfully I always have a map to hand and know how to read it!)
By the end of the day you should feel confident in being able to find your way somewhere new in mountain terrain, walk in poor weather or in the dark, and what to do if you become ‘lost’.
These courses are suitable for individuals, small groups, or as additional training for those on formal training schemes.
Price per person
£68
We’ll need a minimum of 2 people for the course to go ahead and the maximum group size will be 6 people plus instructor

Brecon Beacons Mountain Day - Pen y Fan from Brecon
Experience
This is an 8 mile hike with 450m ascent and 600m descent, taking in the twin peaks of Corn Du and Pen y Fan; the highest peaks in the Bannau Brycheiniog / Brecon Beacons National Park. There is a good but steep path, with one or two trickier sections, which your guide will support you with if needed. The walk offers an essential experience of the mountains of the national park.
Arrangements
The plan for this trip is to meet in Brecon, where we will take a 15 minute bus ride to the start of the hike. Alternatively you can meet us there (there is a large car park and a bus stop from Cardiff). We hike up and over the mountains, returning to Brecon on foot, where there are plenty of places to eat, drink etc. It is possible to take the bus to return to Cardiff, Swansea and other locations. You’ll be sent a full kit list after booking.
Please note in severe weather we may re-route the trip to a lower option, or cancel entirely, in which case you’ll be entitled to a full refund.
Price
This is a shared experience which currently has 1 person booked onto. Our pricing structure for shared experiences is based on cost sharing and is as follows:
1 person - £190
2 people - £95 per person
3 people - £63 per person
4 people + £48 per person
When you book you pay the rate for the number of people currently on the trip, and if* more people join afterwards you will receive a refund for the difference based on the final number of people on the trip.
*we can’t guarantee more people will join

Find your Way - First Steps - Glamorgan Heritage Coast
Do you want to be able to plan great walks, with beautiful views, prepared for the weather and conditions and feel confident that you won’t get lost? I’ve designed the Find Your Way courses to help you do this. This course is the introductory level, which can be followed by the Find Your Way - Go Further and Adventure Seeker courses. We’ll be covering looking at the map, working out the key features and symbols. We’ll then begin to relate what we see on the ground to the map, learn about access, and plotting and following routes. It is a practical day so we’ll be out walking and using the map and everyone on the course will have a chance to be hands on and involved. We’ll also learn what to do if you become ‘lost’. GPS apps are great until your battery runs out, you get logged out and don’t have signal to log back in, or you drop or drown your phone (all of these have happened to me, thankfully I always have a map to hand and know how to read it!)
By the end of the day you should feel confident in being able to read and use a map to plan and follow routes in lowland areas with marked paths, and feel confident that you’ll be able to put yourself back on track if you become lost.
These courses are suitable for individuals, small groups, or as additional training for those on formal training schemes.
Price per person
