Going back to the 1800’s there was a tradition for locals to climb Yr Wyddfa for the Harvest Moonrise. According to family legend my own great-great grandparents met on the summit of Yr Wyddfa on the Harvest Moon and married soon after. This is more than an ordinary walk up Snowdon, it is the chance to connect with the mountain’s past; a kind of pilgrimage.
With luck we’ll get to enjoy a sunset with stunning views over the mountains of Snowdonia and down to the coast, before descending under the stars. Expect a climb of approximately 800m ascent and descent. I’ll decide the route based on the conditions on the day.
*Please note, unfortunately I can’t control the weather, I’ll plan to go ahead with the event in all weather as long as I consider it safe to. We may not reach the summit of Snowdon as we will tailor the walk to group ability and weather conditions.
